Orc and Goblin Tribes — Orc Mobs
Green skin, scrap iron and one tribal colour. Written for a mob rather than a model: the skin is the only stage worth slowing down for, and everything after it is one pass across the whole unit.
Green skin
- Waaagh! Flesh Citadel
- Ork Flesh Citadel
- Wraithbone Citadel
- Biel-Tan Green Citadel
- Warboss Green Citadel
- Skarsnik Green Citadel
- Basecoat the skin Basecoat — Waaagh! Flesh over a black undercoat. If you would rather batch the mob faster, Ork Flesh contrast over Wraithbone reaches roughly the same place in one coat and takes the shade step with it.
- Shade the muscle All-over shade
- Layer the raised flesh Layer — Warboss Green over the muscle bellies, then Skarsnik Green on the brow, jaw and knuckles alone.
Scrap armour and choppa
- Leadbelcher Citadel
- Nuln Oil Citadel
- Typhus Corrosion Citadel
- Ryza Rust Citadel
- Basecoat the metal Basecoat
- Shade it All-over shade
- Rust and pit the plates Stipple — Typhus Corrosion stippled on unevenly, then Ryza Rust dragged over the raised edges. Orc kit should look salvaged, so uneven is the goal.
Hide and cloth
- XV-88 Citadel
- Agrax Earthshade Citadel
- Tallarn Sand Citadel
- Basecoat the hides Basecoat
- Shade them All-over shade
- Drybrush the fur Drybrush
Teeth, tusks and claws
- Rakarth Flesh Citadel
- Seraphim Sepia Citadel
- Screaming Skull Citadel
- Basecoat the ivory Basecoat
- Shade the roots Recess shade
- Highlight the tips Detail — Screaming Skull on the tusk tips only. Tusks are the first thing anyone looks at on an orc.
Tribe glyph
- Evil Sunz Scarlet Citadel
- White Scar Citadel
- Block the glyph Freehand — One shape, repeated on every shield in the mob. A crude glyph painted identically twenty times looks intentional; a careful one painted differently does not.
- Tidy the outline Detail
Base
- Stirland Battlemire Citadel
- Ushabti Bone Citadel
- Rhinox Hide Citadel
- Texture the base Texture
- Drybrush the churned earth Drybrush
- Rim the base Detail
