Dwarfen Mountain Holds — Dwarf Warriors

Beginner · 7 areas

Clan blue, bronze fittings and the beard that takes longer than the rest of the model put together. Paint the beard before the mail — it sits over the chest and you will not reach behind it afterwards.

Beard

  1. Basecoat the beard Basecoat — Get in under the chin now. Once the chest mail is painted this area is unreachable without repainting it.
  2. Shade into the braids Recess shade
  3. Drybrush the hair Drybrush — Skrag Brown down the length of the braids, then the lightest touch of Tallarn Sand on the very tips.

Clan cloth

  1. Basecoat the tunic Basecoat — One clan colour across the whole unit. Blue here; whichever you pick, keep it identical on every model.
  2. Shade the folds Recess shade
  3. Highlight the cloth Layer

Mail and helm

  1. Basecoat the metal Basecoat
  2. Shade the rings All-over shade
  3. Catch the mail Drybrush

Bronze fittings

  1. Pick out the bronze Layer — Helmet rim, belt buckle and shield boss — bronze is what stops a dwarf reading as all-steel.
  2. Shade and verdigris Recess shade — Agrax Earthshade into the recesses, then a pinpoint of Nihilakh Oxide in the deepest corners only.
  3. Highlight the bronze Edge highlight

Leather and axe haft

  1. Basecoat the leather Basecoat
  2. Shade it All-over shade
  3. Highlight the straps Layer

Skin

  1. Basecoat the face and hands Basecoat — On most models this is a nose and two hands. Do not overwork it.
  2. Shade the features All-over shade
  3. Highlight the nose and knuckles Layer

Base

  1. Texture the base Texture
  2. Drybrush the mountain stone Drybrush
  3. Rim the base Detail
